Obituary: Mrs. Johnnie Ruth “Tina” Sketo

 

Mrs. Johnnie Ruth “Tina” Sketo of Hartford passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was 81.

 

A private family service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2020 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Barbara Vernon officiating.  Interment will be held at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Sketo was born March 28, 1939 in Geneva County to the late Grady and Alma Ruth Thompson Holmes. “Gana” owned and operated a day care center for many years where she loved and nurtured countless children whom she adored.   She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be deeply missed.

 

In addition to her parents, one sister and six brothers all preceded her in death.

 

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Shelby Rex “Buck” Sketo; daughter, Vicki Thomley (Rickey); granddaughter, Heather Holman (Jeremy); great granddaughters: Jessilyn Thames, Haleigh Holman, and Jerrah Holman; other extended family and friends.
