OZARK…Josephine Hicks Crumb, a resident of Ozark, died Tuesday afternoon, July 12, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. She was 78.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 16, 2022, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Terry Drinkwater officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.


            Mrs. Crumb, daughter of the late John Brown Hicks and Marie Shepard Hicks, was a native of Newport, Tennessee. She lived in various locations while her husband served in the United States Army before moving to Ozark in 1979. Mrs. Crumb was retired from the Officer’s Club and NCO Club at Fort Rucker as a waitress. She was formerly employed as a seamstress with Logan’s Cleaners in Ozark. Mrs. Crumb loved her family and was a very caring person who loved playing bingo, crafting, and was an avid Rook player. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-three years, Johnnie Ronald Crumb (Sergeant, United States Army, Retired), an infant daughter, sister, Sue Crum, brothers, Bud Hicks and John Ray Hicks, two brothers-in-law, Fred Miller and Joe Sawyer.


            Surviving relatives include her two daughters, Rena Crumb and Karen Charping (John); two sons, Ronald Crumb and Steven Crumb, all of Ozark; two sisters, Peggy Miller, Dandridge, Tennessee and Elizabeth Sawyer, Newport, Tennessee; grandchildren, Brittney Naquin (Chris), Christopher Crumb (Casie) and Trevor Crumb (Megan); step-grandson, Ben Garner; great-grandchildren, Remington DuBose, Hampton DuBose, Conner Crumb, Carson Crumb, and Maggie Crumb; step-greatgrandchildren, Skyla Naquin, Noah Naquin, and Tucker Burkhalter; uncle, George Hicks (Jinny), Bogart, Tennessee.   


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Ron Crumb, Christopher Crumb, Chris Naquin, John Charping, Scott Smith, Chad Causey, and Trevor Crumb.
