Mrs. Lavonia Ashberry Landingham passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012.  She was 74.


 


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2012, in the Trinity Church of God in Samson with Rev. Johnny Wiggins, Rev. Royce Montogomery and Rev. Cliff Kirkland officiating.  Burial will follow in the Travelers Rest Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the church Thursday, March 22, from 6 until 8 p.m.


 


Mrs. Landingham, affectionately known as “Granny”, was born September 17, 1937, in Coffee County, Alabama to the late Shelby John William and Julie Othea Richardson Ashberry.  She enjoyed going to sings and attending church at Trinity Church of God.  Granny was a very loving and devoted mother and grandmother.  She loved to cook and share her cooking talent with others.


 


In addition to her parents, her husband, Lynn H. Landingham, one grandson, Rodney Dale Collins, as well as five brothers and three sisters, all preceded her in death.


 


Survivors include two daughters: Carol (Billy) McKinney, Samson, Judy (Roger) Collins, Panama City; one son, Bruce Brasher, Samson; three grandchildren: Donna Collins, Panama City, Amy and Angie McKinney, Samson;  two sisters: Mary Shehee, Enterprise, Julia Howard, Samson; two brothers: Edward (Mary) Ashberry, Geneva, Wilmer Gene (Donna) Ashberry, Winter Garden, FL; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
