Mrs. Lola Frances Jones Griffin of State Hwy 54, Kinston, Alabama went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 31, 2012.  She was 81.


 


Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 2, in the Corner Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Sam Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m. and continue until service time.


 


The family asked that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the Corner Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Jimmy Lowery, 4357 Co. Rd. 10, Samson, AL 36477.


 


Mrs. Griffin was born June 24, 1931, in Hacoda, AL to the late Claude and Lola Simmons Jones.  She was a lifelong member of the Corner Creek United Methodist Church and a member of the Samson Garden Club for more than 30 years.  Mrs. Griffin was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She dedicated her life to her family.


 


In addition to her parents, a sister, Hilda Grayce Carpenter, and a brother, Eugene Jones, preceded her in death.


 


Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James Bill Griffin; one daughter, Terri Elise Griffin, both of Kinston; one son, James Edward (Melody) Griffin, Tampa, FL; two grandchildren: Kristofer Griffin, Dade City, FL and Matthew Griffin, Ruskin, FL; three great-grandchildren: Sarissa and Rebekah Griffin, Dade City, FL and Austin Griffin, Ruskin, FL; a nephew, Timothy Claude Carpenter, Port Arthur, TX; other extended family and a host of friends.
