Mrs. Loray Dyess of Slocomb passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at her home.  She was 95.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 9, in Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Raley and Chaplain Eddie Biss officiating.  Burial will follow in Slocomb City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, P. O. Drawer 2l27, Dothan, AL  36303.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 until service time.

Mrs. Dyess was born on May 20, 1916 in Houston County, AL to the late Wesley and Fannie Dukes.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Slocomb. 

Survivors include her three nephews:  Herman Tharpe, Billy Tharpe and Daniel Tharpe (Sandra) all of Alexander  City, AL; and many friends.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Gentiva Hospice and to all the special caregivers for their love and kindness.
