Corienne Louise Redd of Ozark, passed away September 24, 2012, at home with her family.  She was 86 years old.


Memorial Services will be held Thursday, October 4, 2012, at 2:00 P. M. at St. Michael’s  Episcopal Church in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Tom Nixon officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends in the church following the service.


Louise was born on January 25, 1926, in Baton Rouge, La., to Lloyd Russell and Adeline Swift Russell.  She graduated from High School and married Lt. George C. McCleary.  Together they had three children.   Her husband was a career military officer and she and the kids followed him from coast to coast for 21 years.  She even boarded a troop ship to Germany with two very small children in 1948.  Louise was active with the Officer’s Wives Club and was a Red Cross Volunteer.  She also loved to play bridge, read romance novels and watch game shows.   George C. McCleary (Colonel, USAF) preceded her in death.  His F-105 was shot down over Hanoi on November 5, 1965.   Col. McCleary was MIA for eight years and then declared dead.  Later, in 1991, his remains were uncovered from the jungles of Vietnam and  buried at Arlington National Cemetery.  


In the mid 1970’s, Louise married Colonel (USAF Retired) John Locke Redd and moved to Ozark.  She and Col. Redd were active members of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church.  Louise was also active with the Daughters of the American Revolution.


Survivors include her three children, Clyde Russell McCleary (Sue), of Bradenton, Fla.; George C. McCleary, Jr. (Karen), of Ozark;  and Janice  Froberg (David) of San Antonio, Tx.; three step children, Suzanne Redd  Ross, Julie Redd Thomas, Sydna Redd Christensen; four grandchildren Ashleigh Louise  Byars (David), Marian Stewart (Nathan), Robin Leigh Jarrett (Coty) and Clyde Russell McCleary, Jr. (Tricia); eight great grandchildren,  Travis, Jade and Lillian Byars, of Ozark; Emmitt and Archie Stewart, Maddie Holzem, Courtney and Jessica McCleary.  She is also survived by her brother, Louis Russell, and two nieces, Nancy and Carol DeWitt of Baton Rouge, La.  She leaves behind a beloved little rat terrier named “Jenny.”
