Mrs. Gainous was born May 4, 1959 in Houston County to the late Betty Lou McAllister Culbreth and Howard Pierce Culbreth, Jr.

Lydia married the love of her life, Paul on August 13, 1977.  They built a beautiful life together, and their love for each other was an extraordinary testament of what true love is for their children.

She was not only a loving wife, but also an adoring mother and devoted grandmother. She was known as “Nana” to her two beautiful grandchildren, who were her whole heart and brought her great joy. Her legacy will live on through the love she poured into her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, William Paul Gainous, Dothan; daughters: Celeste Ward (Brad), Trussville, and Suzanne Glover (Elliott), Dothan, and Maranne Gainous, Dothan; grandchildren: Lydia Caroline Ward, and William McCale Glover; brother, Howard Pierce Culbreth III (Julie), Dothan; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

She will forever be our sunshine and guardian angel.  Her life was possible because of faith, hope, love and miracles.

We love you more.
