Mamie Ruth Tipton, a resident of Cottonwood, Alabama died Monday, January 11, 2021 at her home following an extended illness. She was 73.

Funeral services for Mrs. Tipton will be held at 1 PM Thursday, January 14, 2021 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Reverend Keith Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in The Mount of Olives cemetery in Cottonwood. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, January 13, 2021 from 5 PM until 7 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Tipton was born September 7, 1947 in Luverne, Alabama to the late George and Ruby Dorman Holmes. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was loved by all that met her. Mrs. Tipton was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Tipton is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Gina Tipton Rindt.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Tipton; children, Jo Ann Revis, George Revis, Jim Revis, Jason Tipton, Ray Earl Tipton, Robin Arnold, Denise Tipton, Mike Tipton and Greg Tipton; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews, two brothers and two sisters.
