Mrs. Margaret Ellie Owen of Salem, Alabama passed away October 5, 2011.  She was 76.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.

Mrs. Owen was born in Samson on September 30, 1935 to the late Dee and Arrie Thomas.  She was preceded in death by her husband, David H. Owen, and son Danny H. Owen. 

She is survived by her three daughters, Debra Minnick (John) of San Antonio, TX, Joyce Ryan (Philip) of Salem, AL and Renee Thorpe (Charles) of Wasilla, AK; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; brother, Hubert Thomas of Dothan; and sister, Louise Hayes of Geneva.
