Mrs. Margaret Sue Knight, age 89, of Dothan, passed away Friday, November 24, 2023.


Born November 15, 1934 to the late Ray B. Brannon and Palmer Ray Goff Brannon, Sue was a very caring and giving person. When someone was in need of anything, she was always there to lend a hand. Sue had a loving personality, always showing her love. One of the ways she showed her loving spirit was with the bus ministry at First Free Will Baptist Church, where she was a member. Sue loved the Lord and loved showing her love for Him by going to church and singing her beloved gospel hymns. She loved her family and prayed for her children and family continually.


In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William S. Knight; her son, Scottie Ray Knight; and her brother, Ray Brannon.


She is survived by her son, Tony Knight (Linda); her daughter, Debbie Schulman (Daniel); her grandchildren, Emily Turvin (Zack), Brannon Arnett (Deanna), Hunter Knight (Carrie-Grace), Hannah Knight, Bran Byrd (Kristi), Ashley Schaule, and Colby Knight; her great-grandchildren, Margaret Kate, William Clark, Analea, Aiden, Grayce, Austin Logan, Layla, and William Trey; her brother, Huey Lee Brannon; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Monday, November 27, 2023 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Billy Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 11 AM, Monday, November 27, 2023 prior to the service at the funeral home.


Serving as active pallbearers will be Brannon Arnett, Hunter Knight, Trey Knight, Zack Turvin, Steve Mertes, and Butch Mertes.


The family would like extend a special thank you to Keisha and the nursing staff of Hall 6 at Extendicare for their wonderful care.
