Mrs. Marilyn Sue McCorkel, age 66, of Pansey, passed away Friday, September 1, 2023.
Born March 1, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas to the late Marvin Ralph Tice and Geraldine Boswell Tice, Sue enjoyed life. She loved cooking for her family and they have fond memories of meals around the table with family and friends enjoying her pasta salad as well as her chicken and dumplings.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Louann Love; her brother, Malcom Tice; and her grandson, Cason McCorkel.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Don McCorkel; her sons, Chris (Kristina) McCorkel, Shawn (Whitney) McCorkel and Jason (Stephanie) McCorkel; her grandchildren, Gage Lee, Chase McCorkel, Stratton McCorkel, Haze McCorkel, Kelley Liles, Kendall Liles, Karson Liles, and Jazmine Moore; her sister, Sandy (Donny) Culbreth; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 PM, Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 12 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends and family at all other times at 612 Chapelwood Drive in Dothan.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Timmy Cutts, Nathan Spann, Andrew Corbin, Todd Kirkland, Perry Duffell, Nick Deloney, Kyle Walding, and Billy Tate.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Josh Dagostin and Blake Heard.
