Martha’s Life and Legacy

 

Mrs. Martha Billings Price, a resident of Covington, Georgia, died  Thursday, July 8, 2021, at her home.  She was 56 years old.

Celebration of Life services for Mrs. Price will be graveside 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 17, 2021, in Greater Old Salem Cemetery with Reverend Horace N. Turner officiating.  Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations  of Ozark directing. 

Martha was born on June 23, 1965.  Born into a 12-sibling family, being center stage and caring for others came naturally to Martha.  A favorite family memory: (as a child) Martha would sing and dance to entertain the boyfriends of her older sisters.  That performance would continue throughout her life.  Martha was the life and light of every gathering.  Her presence was often referred to as “being on stage”.   Martha accepted Christ as a teenager, through the Church of God By Faith (C.O.G.B.F) family. Martha served God faithfully, through the music ministry, youth ministry, devotional and missionary work.  She married the love of her life, Roger Lee Price, on March 31, 1984 and was blessed with 35 years of marriage.  From her marriage she was graced with two children: Sylvia Nicole Price and Roderick Cornelius Price.  She has two grandchildren: Kallie Brielle Price and Zeno Deshawn Price (Roderick).  Martha owned and operated Little People Day Care for 16 years.  In 2014, she and Roger decided to take a leap of faith and move to Georgia. Martha often mentioned that she found happiness in Georgia.  Martha was preceded in death by her mother and father; Mary and Oliver Billings Jr. and sisters-in-love Sandra Smith-Billings and Tonya Price-Adams. 

 Roger, Sylvia and Roderick celebrate Martha’s life, love and light with: Her siblings: John Billings (Voncile), Evelyn Neal (Bennie), Lester Billings (Norma Jean), Angela Thompson (Lewis), Stanley Billings (Dedra), Charles Billings (Jeanie), Mary Crossley, Reba Hall, Tekisha Billings, Michael Billings (Deprenia) and Gloria Billings.  Her Aunts and Uncles:  Charles Crawley, Martha Carter (Lopez), Roy Crawley Sr., Ann Barr (Dennis), and William Crawley.  Her Family in Love: Gloria and Cephus Nicholson, Lorie Price, Cephus Eric Nicholson (Sharris), Jessica Nicholson; Her Aunts and Uncles: Celia Maynor, Minnie Benefield (Henry) and Bessie Robinson (Karl).  Her God Sisters: Theresa Sherman, Frances Barrow, Ebony Crittenden; Her God Children: Deandre March, Deanna McDaniel and Stefan Gainey; Her Beloved Friends: Cynthia Martin-McLendon, Mother Mae West Mitchell and Maribel Chacon;  along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
