Mrs. Martha Moss, age 91, died Saturday October 20, 2018 at her home in Ashford.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday October 22, 2018 at the Ashford City Cemetery with Reverend William Irwin officiating and Kendall Glover directing.  The family will receive friends at Mrs. Moss’ home after the service.

Mrs. Moss was born December 16, 1926, in Houston County to James Rollo North and Ila Velma North.  She was married to Alvin Moss.  Mrs. Moss was a member of Cedar Springs Baptist Church.  She worked for McCorkle’s IGA and with her husband on their family farm.  She was a member of Eastern Star and Houston County Home Demonstration Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Moss; an infant son; a son-in-law, Richard Lamb; two brothers, Osmond and Earl North; and a sister, Sarah Thomas.

Her survivors include her daughters, Charlene Lamb, Ashford; Barbara Bryson (Randy), Dothan; and her son, Kenny Moss (Michelle), Ashford.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren:  Jennifer Arnette (Jason), Slocomb; Jason Lamb (Cassie) Kathleen, GA; Lee Putney (John) Mt. Pleasant, SC; Morgan, Mary Kathryn, Marshall and Madalyn Moss of Ashford; three great grandchildren, Addison and Grayson Arnette and Kate Putney.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or to Cedar Springs Baptist Church, 3754 Cedar Springs Road, Ashford, AL, 36312.

The family would like to thank Alacare Hospice for their loving care of our mother, especially Jenetha, Brandi, Denise, Leigh and Lola and to her caregivers Fannie and Ann.
