Mrs. Martha Lynette Segers Davis, a resident of the Salem Community in Skipperville, died Sunday morning, October 13, 2019. She was eighty-two years old.


Funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 16, 2019, in Salem Baptist Church with Reverend Harold Peters and Reverend Daniel Bailey officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Tuesday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. 


Mrs. Davis was born July 20, 1937 in Barbour County, Alabama to the late Lewie Warren Segers and Dorothy Dykes Segers. She had lived in Montgomery, Alabama and  Charleston, South, Carolina while her husband served in the United States Air Force.  They lived in Cuthbert, Georgia and Abbeville, Alabama prior to returning to Barbour County where they made their home.  Mrs. Davis worked with the Commercial Bank of Ozark for thirty-three years, retiring as a Vice President and Cashier.  She was an active member of Salem Baptist Church.


Survivors include her husband, James L. Davis of the Salem Community; two daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and Norman Stubbs of Ozark, Marilyn and Tommy Dean of the Salem Community; one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Kathy Davis of Lynn Haven, Florida; grandchildren, Albert Dean, Jon Dean (Ginger), Patrick Barefield (Kristy), Tanner Barefield (Jessica), Faran Lentz (Jimmy), Hope Nickols (Jordan), Erin Christman (Chad); one brother and sister-in-law, Wilton and Roberta Segers of Ozark.  Nine great grandchildren also survive.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church Trust Fund, 3336 County Road 23, Ariton, Alabama  36311.
