Mrs. Martha Sue Moon Spann of Daleville, Alabama passed away Saturday, August 4, 2012.  She was 71.


 


Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Jack Chancey and Rev. Wendell Ard officiating.  Burial will follow in the Flat Creek Assembly of God cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6 until 8 p.m.


 


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.


 


Mrs. Spann was born November 9, 1940, in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Archie Loman and Sara Frances Ayers Moon. For a number of years she worked as a floral designer. She enjoyed fishing, riding dirt roads with her grandchildren and just spending time with those she loved.  She was of the Assembly of God faith.


 


In addition to her parent’s, her husband, James E. Spann, three sisters, Dorcus, Alice, and Emma, as well as three brothers, Douglas, Dallas and Tullis, all preceded her in death.


 


Survivors include her children, Annette Monk (Jimmy), Daleville, Ronnie Spann (Marge), Hartford, Janet Danley (Sonny), Daleville, Jenise Wellman (Ellis), Headland, Donnie Spann, Daleville; 11 grandchildren: Starla Moore (Casey), Tony Danley (Mark), Jimmy Monk, Jr. (Amanda), all of Daleville, Michelle Bryan (Ashley), Dothan, Andy Danley (Amber), Lacey, WA, Candy Howard, Timothy Wellman, Aubreigh and Emilee Spann, all of Headland, Kala Thomley, Hartford, Kitty Thomley, Slocomb, Kevin McDonald, Hartford, James C. Spann, GA; 14 great-grandchildren;  two sisters: Lois Culver, Kinston, Beth Dansby (Johnny), Eufaula; two brothers: Talmage Moon (Cindy), Pace, FL and Charlie Moon, Daleville; several special sisters and brothers-in-law; a number of nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
