Mrs. Mary Alice Sasser Richardson

Mrs. Mary Alice Sasser Richardson of Samson, Alabama passed away Monday, February 13, 2012.  She was 76.

 

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 16, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Billy Locke and Rev. Donnie Earles officiating.  Burial will follow in the Travelers Rest Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, February 15, from 6 until 8 p.m.

 

Mrs. Richardson was born December 14, 1935 in Coffee County, Alabama to the late William and Della Richardson Sasser.  She enjoyed quilting and crocheting.  Mrs. Richardson was a member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church.  She was a very loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

 

In addition to her parents, her husband, Calhoun P. “Buddy” Richardson, a sister, Mattie Mae Cardwell, as well as four brothers, George, William, Clayton and Charlie Sasser, all preceded her in death.

 

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Smith (Scott); one son, Carl Richardson; one grandson, Tyler Smith, all of Samson; one daughter-in-law, Stephanie Johnson, Bethlehem, FL; two sisters: Louvenia Money, Goodman Community, Vera Baine (Bill), Samson; one brother, Harvey Sasser (Verbie), Goodman Community; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

 

The family would like to say thank you to Covenant Hospice and nurses Lindsey and Carla for their devoted love and care.
