   Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Pritchett DeShon, a resident of Deatsville, Alabama and formerly of Ariton, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023. She was 73 years old.

   A celebration of life will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 25, 2023 in Bethel Worship Center (11117 U.S. 231 Hwy in Wetumpka, Alabama 36092) with Reverend Grady Russell officiating. A graveside service will be held 4:00 P.M. Saturday, March 25, 2023, in Ariton Cemetery. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.

   Mrs. DeShon was born August 10, 1949 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Lucious Spurgeon Pritchett and Erin Elizabeth Carr Pritchett. She graduated from Ariton High School in 1967 and received a Bachelors Degree in Economics from the University of Alabama. She was a former Chaplain and attended Bethel Worship Center in Wetumpka. Mrs. DeShon enjoyed sewing, gardening and her fur babies, Girley Girl, Barnabas, Artie and Jasper.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Robert Pritchett. Survivors include her husband, James G. “Jimmy” DeShon, Jr. of Deatsville; one son, Jason Agles of Ariton; and two step-daughters, Christine Sledge and Wendy DeShon.

   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to your favorite charity.
