Mary Frances Gilmer of Dothan passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Southeast Health after an extended illness. Mary known as Frankie, was 72 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Scott Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 3 P.M. Wednesday, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Selma Baptist Church or Gentiva Hospice.
In early years, Frankie worked at TG&Y and retired from Comcast Cable after 26 years. She loved to work in her yard, walking her 4 miles in her neighborhood, dancing, singing karoke,, traveling with her best friend, Donna, and watching her grandson play baseball.
Frankie was preceded in death by her mom, Eloise Walker and father Walter Skipper.
Frankie leaves behind her son Billy Gilmer, Jr. (Wanda), her daughter Kim Wynn (Al), her grandson Blake Wynn, whom she adored, her best friend Donna Kemmerlin, a special friend Mike Arnold and other special relatives and friends.
Frankie was a special lady who will be missed by all her friends and family and was a great Nana to her grandson, Blake.
A special thank you to Gentiva Hospice, Nurses at Southeast Health, Selma Baptist Church, and relatives and friends who helped us care for our dear mother.
