Obituary: Mrs. Mary Helen McAllister


 


Mrs. Mary Helen McAllister of Newton passed away Monday, May 9, 2022 at her home. She was 74. 


Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Bay Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 


The family will receive friends at the church on Friday beginning at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until service time. 


Mrs. McAllister was born August 8, 1947 in Dothan to the late John Bryant “J.B.” and Audrey Samantha Peterman Faulk. Mrs. McAllister was a member of Bay Springs Baptist Church. She loved her church family dearly and enjoyed attending all day sings. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed. 


Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Bay Springs Baptist Church, 1721 South Bay Springs Road, Dothan, AL 36305 in Mrs. McAllister’s memory. 


In addition to her parents, her husband, Russell McAllister preceded her in death. 


Survivors include children: Tina Hollinger, James McAllister (Susan), John McAllister, and Samantha Parker (Chris); brother, David Faulk (Merline); grandchildren: Courtney Couture, Brandon Henderson, Jeff Miller, Landen McAllister, Kaylen McAllister, Carlee McAllister, Mackenzie Parker, and Taylor Parker; great-grandchildren: Brielle Couture, Brinley Couture, Brody Couture and Monroe Henderson. Nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. 


The family would like to thank special friends and family: Don and Sarah Hatcher, Richard and Barbara McWhirter, Meylan and Lucille Searcy, Terry Gilmore, Janice Jones, Frances Woodham, Joan Seay, David Faulk, Sheila Stephens, Ron and Gayle Creamer and also her primary caregiver Clarissa with Home Instead Senior Care for the love and care shown to Mrs. McAllister.
