Mrs. Mary Loyce Butler Helms, formerly of Ozark, died Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the age of 93.


A private funeral service will be held for Mrs. Helms with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  Condolences may be expressed at www.HolmanFuneralHome.com   


Mrs. Helms was born May 28, 1928 in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Samuel Jackson Butler and Marilyn Rebecca Tindell  Butler.  She was raised in Slocomb but spent most of her adult life in Ozark. She and her husband Edward moved to Auburn in 2011 to be near their daughter.


Mary worked at White Knight Manufacturing, was a secretary at the Ozark Junior High School and retired as a bookkeeper from Pea River Electric Cooperative. She and Edward were members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church for over 50 years.


Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Edward and their son, Don. Survivors include her daughter, Peggy Crumpler (Shawn) of Auburn; one granddaughter, Lindsey Spalding (Mark); great-grandson, Jackson of Destin, Florida, and grandson, Erik Pitcher of Alexandria, Virginia.
