Mary Marcy Mecray Gosselin, a resident of Dothan, Alabama succumbed to  complications from a routine medical procedure Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Noland Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was 82.


A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11AM, Friday, September 9, 2022 at Evergreen Presbyterian Church with Reverend Dr. Joe Johnson officiating. The Family will receive friends at the church from 9:30AM to 11AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Evergreen Presbyterian Church Food Pantry, 1103 North Pontiac Avenue, Dothan, Alabama 36303.


Marcy was born to the late James and Jane Davis Mecray on June 19, 1940. She was a longtime resident of Dothan and a native of Cape May, New Jersey. She was a descendant of the Marcy family, original settlers of Cape May, New Jersey. She and her husband Bob migrated south to Dothan in 1978 to do the work of God in ministry.


Marcy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert “Bob” Ronald Gosselin; her parents, James Rice and Jane Marcy Davis Mecray; two brothers, John Marcy Mecray and Jeremiah Eldrege Mecray.


She is survived by two sons, Robert Ronald Gosselin Jr. (Hope) of Knoxville, Tennessee and Andrew Marcy Gosselin (Lavonda) of Dothan, Alabama; a daughter, Susan Jane Gosselin Illgen (Joel) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
