Mrs. Mary Ruth Chapman Daughtry, a life-long resident of Ozark, died Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the age of 94.

Funeral services for Mrs. Daughtry will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 19, 2022, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Charles Goldsmith officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until service time.

Mrs. Daughtry was born April 13,1927 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Carley D. Chapman and Lucy Anna Price Chapman.  She worked as a Dental Hygienist in Ozark for many years until her retirement.  Mrs. Daughtry was a life-long member of Ozark Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir. She loved her family and enjoyed crocheting and Atlanta Braves baseball.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry LaFayette “H.L.” Daughtry, her son-in-law, Neal Edmond Avrett; two sisters, Evelyn Childree and Frances Mathews; and two brothers, Kenneth Chapman and Robert Chapman.

She is survived by her daughter, Marianne Avrett of Ozark; two grandchildren, Nicholas Avrett (Deanna) and Jennifer Snell (Stephen); three great grandchildren, Jacob Boone, Caitlyn Boone and Aubrey Snell; one sister, Schella Price (Arthur); one brother, Larry Chapman (Janet).  Several nieces and nephews also survive.
