Obituary: Mrs. Mary Sue Watson

 

Mrs. Mary Sue Watson of Hartford passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022. She was 79. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2022 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Johnny Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in the Noma Cemetery, Noma, FL. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. 

Mrs. Watson was born September 16, 1943 in Bellwood, AL to the late Nelson Benjamin and Ledie Lelia Smith Champion. Mary was full of life. She was a faithful servant of Christ who had a determination to press through life with a smile. “Mother instructed me in cooking, baking, cleaning, washing, ironing, and mending. Most of all mother taught me to love the Lord and his word.” 

In addition to her parents, her husband, Bobby G. Watson; son, Bobby M. Watson; granddaughter, Kristin Marinell King; eight sisters; four brothers; and one daughter-in-law, Joanie Marie Watson all preceded her in death. 

Survivors include her children: Naomi Watson Sheffield (James), Marilyn Rachel King, Steven Allen Watson, and Nelson Wade Watson; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; sister, Rachel Pullum; two special fur babies; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
