OZARK…. Mrs. Melissa Young Simonton, a resident of Ozark, died early Wednesday afternoon, May 19, 2021 at her home. She was 60.

            Private family services will be held at a later date. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

            Memorial contributions may be made to Autism Society of Alabama, P.O.Box 661304, Birmingham, Alabama 35266.

            Mrs. Simonton, daughter of the late Billy Joe Young and Nancy Johnson Young, was a native and lifelong resident of Ozark. She attended Carroll High School and was formerly employed by Van Heusen in Ozark. Mrs. Simonton was preceded in death by a brother, Jason Young.

            Surviving relatives include her husband, Marshall Simonton, Sr., Ozark; four sons, Ryan Faircloth (Brandy), Deland, FL, Marshall Simonton, Jr., Ozark,  Christopher Howard Simonton (Angela), and Chad Edward Simonton (Lindsey), all of Monahans, TX; sister, Beverly Young, Texas; brother, Greg Young, Denver, CO; grandchildren, Bree Faircloth, Wesley Faircloth, Hunter Lane Simonton, Gavin Simonton, Peyton Simonton, Christian Simonton, Cheyenne Simonton, Morgan Simonton, Charles James Simonton, Kayla Brunson, and Devin Brunson.
