Mrs. Meriam Bernice “Polly” Fortson of Dothan passed away Friday, September 23, 2022 at the age of 91.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Greystone United Methodist Church with Reverend Teresa Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the church from 10 to 11 A.M. Tuesday, September 27, 2022, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Children’s Ministry of Greystone United Methodist Church, 4401 Fortner St, Dothan, Al 36305.

Mrs. Fortson is preceded in death by her parents James and Annie Sasser.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Buford Fortson, son Tim Fortson (Carolyn), daughter Thenia Park (Scott), brother Bill Sasser (Nell), grandchildren Jennifer Hamilton (Ted), Justin Shaw, Clay Fortson (Caitlyn), Rheana Hayes (Joe), great-grandchildren Jonathan Hamilton, Nora Valerie, Tyler Shaw, Kaitlyn Shaw, and great-great-grandchild Beau Fortson.

Pallbearers will be Justin Shaw, Clay Fortson, Kevin Fortson, Jonathan Hamilton and Tyler Shaw.
