Mrs. Merilyn Rae Stibbe Rogers, 81 years of age, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan after a brief illness.

A private memorial service for Mrs. Rogers will be held at a later date. Holman Funeral Home of Ozark has been entrusted with the arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at www.HolmanFuneralHome.com.

Merilyn was born August 19, 1942, in Hunter, North Dakota to the late Frederick and Emma Stibbe. She was the youngest of six children all of which preceded her in death. Merilyn married Reverend Edward Rogers in February of 1995. They lived in Ozark where she became a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. She loved Jesus and attending church. She later enjoyed getting visits at home from her Pastor once she was home-bound from illness. Through the years Merilyn enjoyed cooking and collecting recipes, reading, sewing, shopping, and watching the birds in her yard on her feeders. You could always count on her to tell you exactly what she thought, and she always had the best sense of humor.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 21 years, Reverend Edward Barrett “Edd” Rogers (Retired Major, United States Army); and two daughters, Nancy McKnight and Julie Spann. Merilyn leaves behind to cherish her memories, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Kyle McGovern of Big Canoe, Georgia, Todd and Roberta McGovern of Dothan, Alabama. Eleven grandchildren also survive.
