Mildred C. Crowe of Dothan passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the age of 93.


Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Memphis Baptist Church with Reverend Billy Rich officiating. Burial will take place at 3 P.M. (Eastern time) Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at All Faiths Memorial Park in Casselberry, Florida. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Monday, February 27, 2023, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends from 1-2 P.M. Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Memphis Baptist Church.


Mildred was born on May 26, 1929, in Florida, to the late Ernest C. Rhames and Annie Collins Rhames. Mildred was devoted and loved deeply by her family. She raised 4 children while traveling around the world as an Air Force wife for 23 years. Mildred previously attended Bascom Baptist Church, before calling Memphis Baptist Church her home. She enjoyed in her free time watching gameshows and playing golf and bowling.  


In addition to her parents, Ernest and Annie Rhames, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Crowe; brothers, Ernest Rhames and Rufus Rhames; sisters, Ella Davis, Edna Strange, and Evelin Tootle; granddaughter, Tracy Podner; and grandson, Dennis Miller.


Survivors include her daughters, Sheila Crowe, Elaine Bender (Chuck), and Carol Appel (Rick); son, Billy D. Crowe (Pat); 5 grandchildren; 27 greatgrandchildren; 12 great-greatgrandchildren; and numerous other family members.
