Mrs. Nellie Nolen Jay of Samson passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Wiregrass Nursing Home in Geneva. She was 88. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Lime Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Wesley Spivey officiating. Burial will follow in the Earlytown Church of Christ Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends at the Church on Tuesday starting at 12:30 p.m.

Mrs. Jay was born May 20, 1923 in Lowery to the late Walter and Liza Nolen. Mrs. Jay was a long time member of Lime Springs United Methodist Church and she also loved to fish and cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Jay; one son, Roy Jay and a grandson, Roy Allen Jay.

Survivors include one daughter, Doreatha Jay of Samson and one son, Malone Jay (Patricia) of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Ken Jay (Caryn) of Clayton, AL, Mark Jay (Becky) of Dacula, GA and Rita Brown (JJ) of Alexandria, VA; 18 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Wiregrass Nursing Home for the care shown to their mother.
