Obituary: Mrs. Nicole “Hazel” Willis Cooper


 


Mrs. Nicole “Hazel” Willis Cooper passed away July 20, 2023 at the home of her daughter, Denise Holloway Wunschel in Leesburg, FL. She was 77. 


A Memorial Service will be held at her home church Fadette Pentecostal Ministries at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, September 3, 2023 with Rev. Johnny Strickland officiating. 


Nicole was born June 22, 1946 in Hartford to the late Luther M. and Gladys Jowers Willis. In addition to her parents, her husband of 34 years, Tom “Buddy” Cooper preceded her in death. Nicole “Hazel” was a member of the 1964 graduating class of Rehobeth High School. A few years later she and her husband, Buddy were long distance truck drivers and she enjoyed traveling. She also loved going to the beach just to watch and listen to the waves. 


Survivors include her daughter, Denise Wunschel (Paul), two grandchildren: Justin Whaley, and Jessica Dawson; four great grandchildren: Aiden Lockhart, Piper Lockhart, Bella Lockhart, and Killian Dawson; sister, Anne Knight (PeeWee Hulon); brother, Don Willis (Debra); special niece, Mellis Willis Milburn; two nephews: Thomas Knight (Sheila), and Bradley Knight (Ashley); other extended family and friends.
