Mrs. Onvie Weeks McDuffie of Westville, FL passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011.  She was 88.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Frank McIntosh officiating.  Burial will follow in McDuffie Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

 

Mrs. McDuffie was the last of eight children born to the late Sam and Queen Powell Weeks in Holmes County, FL on September 9, 1923.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Augustus McDuffie; son, Henry Cecil McDuffie; and seven siblings, Malcolm Weeks, Esker Weeks, Corbin Weeks, Wayne Weeks, Addie May Weeks, Lou Ray Weeks and Amy McKnight.

 

She is survived by four grandchildren, Terry Petty (Larry), Walker McDuffie (Kelly), Kelly Cubstead (Jimmy) and Shay McDuffie (Michelle), all of Westville; eight great grandchildren, Keith Petty, Katie Petty, Matthew Calhoun, Brooke McDuffie, Shayla Cubstead, Seth McDuffie, Daisey McDuffie and Jaxon McDuffie; one great great grandchild, Gavin Petty; and numerous nieces and nephews.
