Mrs. Opal Ree Maloy Johnson of Samson passed away at Wiregrass Nursing Home on December 25, 2011.  She was 76.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Mrs. Johnson’s nephew, Rev. Eldon “Johnny” Johnson Jr., and Rev. Phillip Barnes officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.


 Mrs. Johnson was born in Jakin, Georgia on January 30, 1935 to the late William and Esther Odom Maloy.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Adams; and two brothers, Edward Maloy and Sam Maloy.


She is survived by her husband, Bradford Johnson of Freeport, FL; three daughters, Billie June Bradley (David), Donna Carter (Bobby), both of Samson, and Janet Caldwell of Freeport, FL; six grandchildren, Justin Bradley (Tina) of Opp, Jason Carter (Danielle), Andrew Carter, both of Samson, Casondra Churchwell, Bradley Linton and Austin Caldwell, all of Freeport, FL; three great grandchildren, Alyssa, Trey and Bryan; and two sisters, Annette Ward and Thelma Maloy, both of Samson.
