Ora Nell Lewis Lominack, age 86, of Dothan, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Ora was born on August 30, 1936 in Barbour County, Alabama to the late Cody Marvy Lewis and Augusta Dykes Lewis. She lived the early years of her life in Louisville and Ariton. She was a graduate of Ariton High School. The youngest of six children, Ora loved helping on the family farm and taking care of her nieces, who were more like daughters. In 1957, she married her love, Alva E. Lominack, and she would follow him all over the United States on his assignments with the F. B. I., where she also worked for a period of time. Ora was blessed to be able to stay home and raise her two girls once they settled in Brewton, AL. However, the most important thing to Ora, was her love of Jesus. She was faithful to her church, Pathway Baptist Church, where she was active prior to the progression of her illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alva Lominack; her twin infant daughters; her parents; her brothers, Austin Lewis, Perry Lewis, and Billy Lewis; her sister, Virginia Willis; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and her beloved dog, Isis.

Survivors include her daughters, Gretchen L. McDonald (Jason) of Verbena, AL and Heidi L. Boone (Casey) of Powder Springs, GA; grandsons, Logan McDonald and Will Boone; granddaughter, Abigail Boone; brother, Lloyd Lewis of Elba; sister-in-law, Evelyn Adkison of Dothan; and special nephew, Steve Willis of Dothan.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Monday, January 9, 2023 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Tommy White officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home.
