 Rebecca Ann Garrett Dean, age 62, of Dothan, AL., passed away on August 8, 2022 in Birmingham following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Friday, August 12, 2022 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Brandon Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Bluff Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. Friday, August 12, 2022, one hour prior to the service.

“Becky” was a beautiful soul who loved with all of her heart and had a smile that would light up a room with her ray of sunshine presence. To know her, was to love her and to always laugh with her. She was a faithful servant to her Lord, a loving wife, proud mother and grandmother, best sister and sidekick, best friend, loving daughter, and the favorite aunt, aka “fauntie” to all. She was fun, loved being the entertainment, never cared if she was different or “tacky” and was one of the most compassionate human beings you have ever met. Her love was strong, and her memories are many. She was a unique diamond that always left her sparkle in everyone she encountered. She would want her family and friends to sprinkle her glitter as they journeyed through this life without her.

Rebecca is preceded in death by her parents Carl Thomas Garrett and Carolyn Murphree Garrett and a sister Dian Laney.

Survivors include her husband Greg Dean, son Blake Spencer (Kim), brother Carl Thomas Garrett, Jr. (Sheila), sister Anita Cleveland (William), grandson Justin Whittaker and several nieces and nephews.
