Mrs. Rubye V. Curry Brown of Hwy 2, Bonifay, Florida went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, July 19, 2012, with her loving and devoted family at her side.  She was 95.


 


Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2012, at East Pittman Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Adams and Rev. Clyde R. Smith officiating.  Mrs. Brown will be placed into the church one hour prior to service time.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, July 21, from 6 until 8 p.m.


 


Mrs. Brown was born February 10, 1917, in Holmes County, Florida to the late Rev. John Arthur and Lillie Sanders Curry.  After several years of service she retired from the Holmes County Extension Service as a nutritionist.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing and working in her flower garden, but first and foremost she loved her Lord and her family. She was a Congregational Methodist by faith. 


 


In addition to her parents, her husband, C.  Jay Brown, two sons, J.R. Jerry Brown and Johnny Jack Brown all preceded her death.


 


Survivors include one son, Kim Brown (Carol), Geneva; three daughters: Jeanette Smith (Clyde), Iris Smith (Jerry), all of Bonifay and Lillie Smith, Geneva; one sister, Mary Lois Sowell, Bonifay; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family and friends.


 


Great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
