   Mrs. Sally Ann Williams Simmons, a resident of Newton, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 84 years old.


   Funeral services for Mrs. Simmons will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, May 7, 2023, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Mr. Bimbo Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Community Cemetery in Newton, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.


   The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Sunday from 1:30 P.M. until service time.


   Mrs. Simmons was born March 26, 1939 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Roy Nolan Williams, Sr. and Millie Annie Faust Williams. She graduated from Newton High School in 1957 and received her degree in Cosmetology from Wallace Community College. She owned and operated Ann’s Beauty Shop in Newton until her retirement in 1998. Sally was a member of Newton Baptist Church and Newton Ruritan Club. She loved camping, traveling, fishing, cooking and working in her yard. She loved her fur-baby, Gypsy Lee.


   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Nolan Williams, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Roger Simmons of Newton; a special niece, Renee Deloney (Marley) of Newton; one brother-in-law, Ted Simmons of Clayhatchee.


   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to your favorite charity.
