Sara Elizabeth (Betty) King passed away Monday, November 29, 2021, in Mobile, Alabama.


She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.


She was born in Dothan, AL on October 3, 1921. Betty joined the Foster Street Methodist Church in 1930 and she was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the choir and the Fellowship Sunday School Class.


Betty enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and playing bridge with friends. Her favorite place to be was Compass Lake, Florida where wonderful memories were made with family and friends. She loved having coffee on the porch, swimming, skiing and boat rides.


Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. King, her parents, Ben Mills Hornsby and Pearl Jones Hornsby, her brother, Joseph Hornsby, and her sisters, Benelle Stokes, Lyndall Smith and Helen Wells.


She is survived by her children, Susan (Steve) D’Lugos, Fredericksburg, VA, Carl King, Ozark, Al, and Sara Jane (Mickey) Davidson, Mobile, Al.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren whom she loved so much and was so proud of; many special nieces, nephews and cousins; two special cousins, Herman Douglas Jones and his wife Sharon (deceased).


A graveside service will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, December 6, 2021 at Memory Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 1380 W. Main Street, Dothan, Al; 36301.
