OZARK…. Mrs. Sara Peters Brown, a resident of Ozark, died early Thursday afternoon, July 30, 2020 at the home of her son. She was 84.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 3, 2020 in the Southside Baptist Church with Reverend Tim Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Monday at the church.


            Flowers will be accepted.


            Mrs. Brown, daughter of the late Roy Pierce Peters and Sarah Claudie Dean Peters, was a native of Dale County. She lived in various locations in the United States and overseas while her husband served in the United States Air Force. Mrs. Brown returned to Ozark in 1969 and was retired from Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) at Ft. Rucker as the manager. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Brown (Colonel, United States Army, Retired); son-in-law, John Mullen; three sisters and three brothers.


            Surviving relatives include her daughter, Deborah Mullen; son, Keith Cauthen (Jennifer), all of Ozark; four grandchildren, Ronald Mullen (Amber), Melissa Mullen, Jessica Bryan (Michael), and Travis Cauthen (Tika); two great-grandchildren, Austin Mullen and Michael Hunter Bryan.
