Mrs. Susan (Susie Mae) Windham Jones of Slocomb passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Hartford Health Care.  She was 93.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, at New Teamon Baptist Church with Rev. Wendell Holmes, Rev. Cliff Knight and Rev. Lee Chorn officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. Mrs. Jones will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time.  Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to New Teamon Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3813 South County Road 85, Slocomb, AL  36375.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. 

Mrs. Jones was born on November 30, 1918 in Dale County, AL to the late Jesse Monroe and Sallie Hagler Windham.  She was a member of New Teamon Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Jones; her parents; one brother, Jessie Windham; one sister, Annie Pearl Windham; and a grandson, Joey Jones.

Survivors include two sons:  Cecil (Gloria) Jones of Cottonwood, Haywood (Betty) Jones of Kinsey; grandchildren:  Susie (Stanley) Szoldra of Plymouth, CT, Cindy (Bobby) Austin of Midland City, Brad (Brenda) Jones of Cottonwood, Michael Jones of Dothan, David Jones of Cottonwood, Alicia Jones of Cottonwood; ten great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one sister:  Mattie Ruth Tadlock of Ozark; niece and a very special friend:  Mary Alice Tew of Slocomb; several nieces and nephews; her church family; caregivers; and a very special friend and roommate, Mrs. Hortie Mae Jones.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Hartford Health Care.
