Mrs. Trudy Swails, a resident of Eufaula, Alabama passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Southeast Health in Dothan, Alabama with her loving family by her side. She was 71 years old.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Salem Freewill Baptist Church in Cottondale, Florida with Brother Mickey Skinner officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Eufaula directing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Glover Funeral Home in Eufaula, Alabama. The family will also be receiving friends at Mrs. Trudy’s house.

Trudy was born September 3, 1951, in Alford, Florida to the late JD and Effie Lee Seay Kent. She grew up in Alford where she lived for 41 years and was a 1971 graduate of Cottondale High School. She worked for many years as a seamstress at Jackson Apparel in Cottondale, Florida and West Point Pepperell in Chipley, Florida. After moving to Eufaula, where she lived for the last 27 years, she worked at Hummingbird and then Riveroaks Assisted Living for 15 years. Her hobbies included music, dancing, but she was known for her outstanding cooking skills that she proudly passed down to her children and grandchildren. Above everything else she enjoyed spending time with her family that she loved so dearly. If you knew Trudy, you knew she had a heart of gold and she loved with every ounce of it.  

She is preceded death in by her parents; husband, Evan Lamar Hendrix; son, Ashley Hendrix; three sisters, Doodle McKay, Dorothy Lipford, and Carolyn Henderson.

Left to cherish her memories are son, Tony Hendrix (Becky) of Crestview, Florida; daughter, Amy Hart (Shan) of Eufaula, Alabama; sister, Bunnie Brock of Cottondale, Florida; nine grandchildren, Tyler Hendrix, Jocelyne Hendrix, Peyton Hendrix, Braelyn Hendrix, Amber Hendrix, Daniel Paulk (Hannah), Heidi Paulk (Trevor), Morgan Matthews (Trever), and Cory Hart; nine great-grandchildren, John Luke Paulk, Aubree Paulk, Madelyn Paulk, Gabby Paulk, Paisley Beardon, Tatum Beardon, Rosie Waddell, Eliza Hendrix, and Paisley Culpepper; four best friends, Jannett Radford, Kathy Campbell, Rachel Powell, and Tabitha Truett.

The family will be accepting flowers.
