    Mrs. Vestal (Vickie) Avery Andrews, age 95, of Ozark, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, following an extended fight with kidney disease.


    Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Andrews  2:00 P.M. Friday, November 15, 2019, in the Westview Memorial Cemetery Chapel with Reverend Charles Goldsmith officiating.  Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Friday in Westview Memorial Cemetery Chapel from 12:30 P.M. until service time.


    Mrs. Andrews was born July 2, 1924 in Pisgah, Arkansas (Pike County) to the late Dudley Jessie Avery and Synthia Serena Merrell Avery.   Mrs. Andrews was a stay at home mom until 1960 when she began working for the Commercial Bank in Ozark where she remained until her retirement in 1989.  She was an avid Auburn University football fan and an Atlanta Braves baseball fan.  She was a member of Ozark Baptist Church where she was a member of the Coed/Adult Sunday School Class.


    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William Noel Andrews, Ozark, Alabama; two brothers, James Robert Avery, Delight, Arkansas and Dudley Jessie Avery, Jr., Nashville, Arkansas; four sisters, Gracie Alice Avery, Pisgah, Arkansas, Nancy May Hill, Pisgah, Arkansas, Mary Elizabeth Prince, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Cora Helen Hill, Murfreesboro, Arkansas.


    Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Joel Main, Coffee Springs, Alabama; one son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Shelia Andrews, Midland City, Alabama; one sister, Rosie Marie  Holcomb, Delight, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Kristen Main, Enterprise, Alabama; one great-granddaughter, Avery Grace Wood, Enterprise, Alabama; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She also leaves behind a special friend, her dog Suzi.


    The family wishes to thank all the doctors, nurses and aids with Kindred Hospice for their care and support during Mrs. Andrews illness.  They would especially like to thank the case doctor, Dr. John Burgess, case nurse, Brett Smith, social worker, Kerri Cox and Chaplin, Brother Charles Goldsmith.


    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105; or to Westview Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 1045, Ozark, Alabama 36361.
