Keisha Marie Hicks, of Pansey, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the age of 44.

Keisha was born on February 11, 1978, to Dawn Schultz Gaston and the late Edward Gerald Hicks in Dothan, Alabama. Her greatest joy and accomplishment in life was being a mother to her son, Dalton. Keisha faced many obstacles in her life, but she was a strong woman who felt deeply and loved fiercely. Her heart of gold showed in many acts of kindness over the years in her short life. Keisha was an animal lover that could never turn an animal away. Her favorite past times were porch sitting with Mandi listening to Stevie Nicks, and on the river enjoying the company of friends.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Edward and Elizabeth Hicks, and maternal grandparents, Herald and Dorothy Schultz.

Survivors include her son, Dalton Butler; mother, Dawn Schultz Gaston (Donald); 4 dogs; 1 cat; and many other loving family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Antioch Baptist Church. Casual attire is welcomed. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ward Wilson Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
