Ms. Rexine Johnston Lee, age 80, of Dothan passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at her residence.

 

Rexine was born in Brundidge, GA, on August 25, 1936, to the late Rex Earl Johnston and Grace Wilson.  Ms. Lee was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was a graduate of Dothan High School and attended some schooling at Auburn University. She also attended the First United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing bridge. After spending many years as a full-time mom, Rexine enjoyed selling and buying shoes. She was also known to many others as the shoe lady at Burnham Shoes.

 

Rexine is survived by her daughter, Libby Baker (Jerry); sons, Jeff Lee and Steve Lee (Carol); sister, Nancy Porter; grandchildren, Adam Baker, Mandy Huff, Rebecca Merrion, Erica Harper, Jeffrey Lee, Mallory Pritchard, and Steven Lee; and 12 great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 2:30 PM at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Allie Freeman officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 1:00- 2:30 PM. Burial will take place in Memory Hill Cemetery.

 

Family will be accepting flowers.
