ABBEVILLE, ALABAMA. . .Myra Carpenter Anderson, a resident of Abbeville, Alabama, died early Saturday morning, December 8, 2018, in the Willson Hospice House in Albany, Georgia.

            Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. (CST), Saturday, December 15, 2018, in the Judson Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Brandon Turner officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside services.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Willson Hospice, 320 Foundation Lane, Albany, GA 31707.

            Ms. Anderson was born in Dunnellon, Florida and was reared in Hernando, Florida, daughter of the late Harold Roberts and Mable Starling Roberts. She was a graduate of Citrus High School in Inverness, Florida. A retired Registered Nurse, Ms. Anderson attended the Mather School of Nursing at Tulane University in New Orleans and the Ocala Community College. She received her degree as a Registered Nurse from Tampa University/Gordon Keller School of Nursing. Ms. Anderson was a certified Vocational Nursing Instructor and served on the Omsbudsmen Board for the State of Florida as an investigator. In earlier years, she was employed as the Director of Nursing and later became Administrator of Oakwood Nursing Center in Eustis, Florida. Ms. Anderson was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Roberts and Gail Roberts.

            Surviving relatives include two sons, Harold Douglas Carpenter, Panama City; and William Jacob Carpenter, Leesburg, GA; a  brother, Henry Roberts (Leona), Lakeland, FL; two granddaughters, Lauren Taylor Carpenter and McKenzie Hope Carpenter.
