Myra Jones Clark, daughter of the late Dora and Freeman Jones, passed peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at the age of 91.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Billy J. Clark.

 

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Peggy and Joe Rice, Jimmy and Debby Clark all of Dothan, Patricia and Mark Headrick of LaGrange, GA as well as grandchildren, Dr. Allan and Laura Rice of Ozark, Clark and Janay Rice, and Carson Clark of Dothan, Raleigh Clark of Auburn, AL, Bethany and Rob Bailey, Matthew and Nicole Headrick, and Madeline Headrick of LaGrange, GA, thirteen great-grandchildren, and sister Mary J. Hall of Columbus, GA.

 

Mrs. Clark retired from Southeast Alabama Medical Center in 1988 as Director of Environmental Services following 30 years of service. She was a devout member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church for 75 years. She served on the Board of the Taylor Senior Citizen Center.

The family wishes to acknowledge the staff of Westside Terrace who lovingly cared for our mother for the last three months. We also appreciate the faithful care of her home caregivers over the past three years, especially Beverly Harris.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted.
