SHORTERVILLE. . .Mary Nancey Chambers Byle, a resident of Henry County, between Haleburg and Shorterville, died Friday night, December 16, 2022, in a Dothan hospital.


Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, December 19, 2022, in the Haleburg Baptist Church with Dr. Ray Cobb officiating. A private burial will be in the Shorterville Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. Monday in the church sanctuary. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.


Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.


Nancey Byle was born in Ft. Gaines, Georgia and was raised in Henry County, near Haleburg. She was a member of the Haleburg Baptist Church. Nancey was retired, due to disability, from Home Oil Company, as a store manager. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Lamar Chambers and Ossie Mae Roberson Chambers, and a brother, James Thomas Chambers.


Surviving relatives include her husband, Richard Allen Byle; a daughter, Valerie Griffin Heath (Christopher), Shorterville; a sister, Ila Chambers Blair, Shorterville; a sister-in-law, Kathy Chambers, Abbeville; two grandchildren, Bryson Griffin and Adreana Griffin, nieces, Candy Harper and Malinda Golden, a nephew, LaDon Chambers, and  special friends, Joy Bristow Littlefield and Robert Smith.
