Nancy Anna Ash Wade, 67, a resident of Dothan passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014 at her residence. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Nancy will be dearly missed.


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.


Mrs. Wade was born August 29, 1947 and was a graduate of Dothan High School. She graduated from Troy University with a degree in sociology and was inducted into the Who's Who while attending there. She was employed with the State of Alabama for over 20 years as a social worker in the Department of Human Resources. Nancy retired about 4 years ago and has been enjoying her love of travel since. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hazel Ash, and her husband James Thomas Wade Sr.


Survivors include her sons, James Thomas Wade Jr. and his wife Regina, and David William Wade and his wife Grace; grandchildren, Jeremy Birge and his wife Ashley, Austin Wade, Evan Wade, Michael J. Bradshaw, and Amanda King; great-grandchildren, Matthew Birge, Troy Birge, Zachary Cassidy, Zoey Ham, Maddie King, and Kyleigh King; brothers, Nick Ash, Bill Ash and his wife Debra, and Richard Ash and his wife Lynn; numerous nieces and nephews.
