Nancy Griffin Pate

Nancy Griffin Pate, 80, a resident of Kansas City, MO and native of Newville, AL, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2022. Nancy was born May 10, 1941 to Lloyd and Rubye (Capps) Griffin in Newville, AL.

Nancy retired after more than 40 years as a Gifted Education Teacher; 23 of those years were with Newmark Middle School in Kansas City, MO. She was also a past President of the Gifted Association of Missouri, and was a member of Parkville Presbyterian Church in Parkville, MO, where she had served as an Elder.

Nancy is survived by her two children: daughter Leigh Pate Moyer of Marietta, GA, and son Daniel McLendon Pate (Shannon), of Kansas City, MO; and two grandchildren: Alexander Moyer and Meghan Pate. She was preceded in death by both parents and sister, Bettye Griffin McArthur.

A memorial service will be held at Wayside Baptist Church in Ashford, AL on Saturday May 30, 2022 with Rev. Eric Varnum presiding.
