Nathan E. Cumbie, Sr. BC-HIS

 

Nathan E. Cumbie Sr. of Dothan, AL passed away at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Bainbridge, GA on July 21, 1940.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Steve Skidmore and Aaron Dickinson officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, December 28, 2011, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Cloverdale Baptist Church Building Fund.

 

Mr. Cumbie was a member of Cloverdale Baptist Church and the Alabama Hearing Aid Society, where he served as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President, and President. He was a Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist and previous owner of Beltone Hearing Aid Center. He thoroughly enjoyed working with the elderly and hearing impaired for 25 years.

 

He is preceded in death by daughter Sharon Cumbie Shaw Pauley, parents, Bernard and Emma Cumbie, and sister Jimmie Ruth King.

 

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Loraine Dollar Cumbie, son, Nathan Cumbie, Jr. (Penny) of Milledgeville, GA, grandson Aaron Michael Shaw of Dothan, AL, son-in-law, Brian Pauley (Kelley) of Dothan, AL, sister, Mary Niles of MN.

 

Active pallbearers will be Brian Pauley, John Chancey, Ashley Jones, Carl Granger, Trey Skidmore, Jessie Cutts, Gene Smith, and Zack Farrington.
