Mrs. Nell Free Prevatt, 85, a resident of Gordon, passed away, Saturday, July 15, 2023, at her residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Monday, July 17, 2023, at Bethlehem Assembly of God with Reverend Royce Morrow and Reverend Larry Skipper officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 2:15 until 3:15 p.m. prior to the service.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Assembly of God Church Cemetery Fund, 6225 S. County Road 81, Pansey, AL, 36370.

Mrs. Nell was born July 10, 1938, in Houston County to the late Arthur L. and Carrie Virginia Hinson Free. She spent her entire life in Houston County and worked as a Finisher for Sony Corp for over 20 years prior to her retirement. Nell enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, and loved to cook, especially chocolate cakes.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Radious Merle Prevatt; her parents; four sisters, Ouida Smith, Annie Will Averette, Shirley Wood, and Betty Rolf; three brothers, Quinton Free, Arthur O. Free, and Omar Free.

She is survived by her son, Danny Prevatt (Stacey) of Ashford; a daughter, Susan Smith (Donny) of Ashford; one sister, Jean Herman (Steve) of Dothan; two sisters-in-law, Valeria Capps of Gordon, and Sara Ingram (Charles) of Pansey; four grandchildren, Dustin Prevatt (Danielle) of Ashford, Lynnsey Russell (Cody) of Ashford, Cara Summerlin (Chris) of Rehobeth, and Cayla Cobb (Brandon) of Rehobeth; five great-grandchildren, Adalyn & Sawyer Prevatt, Willa Reese Russell, Ryles Love, and Harper Nell Cobb; and several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ritchie Bodiford, Brian Bodiford, Michael Floyd, Cole Floyd, Ashley Ingram, and Scott Danford.
