Nettie Merl Myers Rainey of Geneva, AL passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at her home. She was 88 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2022 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Turman officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted.

Merl was born in Dale County, AL on February 19, 1934 to the late James David and Lona Mae McKenzie Myers. She enjoyed spending with her great grandchildren. She loved to cook, quilt, bake, and sew. Family was the most important thing to her, and she was the happiest when her family was with her. She also enjoyed taking trips to the mountains.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Rainey; one daughter, Gloria Felecia Rainey Deal; siblings, Grover Head, J.W. Rachel, George Rachel, Dewey Rachel, Mary Frances Lofton Linzey, Walter Myers, Guy Myers, General Myers, Lonnie Myers, Ethel Myers, and Dorothy Myers.

She is survived by one grandson, John Michael Morris (Lindsey); four great grandchildren, Treston, Addilyn, Chaseton Morris, Sydney Crawford, all of Geneva, AL; one sister, Willowdean Butts of LaGrange, GA and a number of special nieces and nephews.
